The Farm

Milton Farm is part of the Fairford Estate and owned by the Ernest Cook Trust.  This is an educational charity set up by Ernest Cook, grandson of  Thomas Cook, founder of the famous firm of travel agents.  The estate includes a number of farms and areas of woodland around Fairford and the trust aims to combine farming with architectural and wildlife conservation and environmental care of the landscape.

At Milton Farm we have a number of conservation and wildlife projects, mainly centered around the river meadows, which stretch along the River Coln from Fairford to Quenington.  There is a designated footpath which is open to the public and runs through the beautiful Cotswold countryside of the Coln valley.

Milton Farm has been farmed by the Paton family for 35 years.  The farm is currently 1,400 acres in size which comprises of mainly arable land with a suckler beef herd of cattle.  Farming is currently going through hard times and it is the non-farming income which now supports the business.  At Milton Farm this includes a mini-bus service, farm workshops, stabling for horses and of course the Bed and Breakfast.

We believe that it is a privilege to have the opportunity to live and work in such a beautiful part of the country.  We warmly welcome anyone who would like to stay and see this for themselves.
